Here's how it works: Create a simple list of the responsibilities you have outside of school. This isn't a list of all the chores you have to do because of your position. It is a list of the positions themselves. To use the aforementioned example, one subpoint of my responsibilities list is entitled, "National Honors Society". That's the only information I include. Each night, when I am making my To-Do List (see Part 1 of this series), I skim this list of roles/organizations I am committed to. After doing this, I determine what is most urgent and delegate one or two of those tasks to the next day. It's really simple.
This system has been beyond helpful for me. I highly encourage that you use it. Make sure to add as much as you need to your responsibilities list. It doesn't take much work to skim over this list at night. Add anything outside of school that requires some sort of work. A couple of days ago, I added this blog to my responsibilities list. So, if I haven't posted in a while, I will be reminded of that each night. I will thus be incentivized to post again. Clearly, this is a great method for learning personal accountability.
Again, this has been SOOOOO helpful for me. It's literally changed my life. I hope it will change yours as well.
